Jen Feroze
I’ve been writing on and off since I was a teenager, when I was lucky enough to win a Foyle Young Poet of the Year award. I tend to use poetry to help me process things, so my writing is often about parenthood, womanhood, friendship, food and how the hell to be an adult without getting it wrong all the time! My work has been widely published in journals and magazines, and my first book The Colour of Hope came out in 2020 to raise money for Mind UK. I’ve got two more books forthcoming later this year with Nine Pens Press, so watch this space!

Poems are my way of painting pictures with words about the things that consume or overwhelm us; love, loss, obsession, decay, landscape, memory, faith and beauty. I adore notions of faded glamour, forgotten places, whispered secrets, shipwrecks, long train journeys and the tinkling of vintage lead-crystal champagne saucers by candlelight. I return to my themes time and again, wringing them endlessly for another decadent hit of the nostalgia and romance I cannot live without.
