A return in the mind to a novel of the night before, whilst serving the 9-5 of the following day.

We moved to Leigh-on-Sea 3 years ago and missed a bookshop where we spent time browsing, talking and drinking good coffee.

We wished for somewhere we could bring people and families together, a setting for lively conversations, laughter and gatherings of friends.

Thus, Read on Sea was born!

Our café bookshop is born of reflections on a good book read, a desire to create a unique place in our new home town and in part, perhaps, of a bit of midlife crisis. Oh, and we also serve wine!
